Wedding Bells Are Ringing for Big Zulu

Rapper Big Zulu ain’t got no time for Cassper Nyovest’s recently released diss track: he’s too busy getting married, although to whom seems to be the bigger question.

A picture posted by a user named “Life After 18” began circulating on Twitter on Saturday, 3 September, which showed two men kissing before an altar, with one of them looking suspiciously like Big Zulu himself. The tweet was captioned, “Big Zulu just got married to his Highschool [sic] sweetheart.”

However, the “Voicemail” rapper quickly disputed the claims by responding in isiZulu: “Don’t play with me.”

While the person (and gender) seem to be wrong, the subject of conversation is surprisingly on point. A local entertainment publication reported seeing the hitmaker with his well-dressed uncles in Soweto, Johannesburg, where he was said to be paying lobola for his wife-to-be.

The latest guess for Big Zulu’s life partner appears to be the more realistic option of his long-time girlfriend, Lebogang Makenete, although the two have yet to make the big engagement news public. 

The news comes just after Cassper Nyovest’s diss track, “4 Steps Back”, which was released on Friday, 2 September. In the single, Nyovest refers to the gender-based violence allegations levelled against Big Zulu in 2018.
